Thanksgiving...

There is something about Thanksgiving that has always been so comforting to me. I do believe that it is the food. Thanksgiving is the one day out of the year that I absolutely stuff my face to the point of uncomfortableness, then go sit, watch some football and moan at how full my belly is!

And then...Mmmmm, then, there are the leftovers for the next few days! There is something so delicious about Thanksgiving leftovers!

I am quite excited for this Thanksgiving. Bring on the food! My mouth is watering.

Still dealing...

Well, I'm still dealing with enormous amounts of pain from my bulging disc and sciatica in my lower lumbar region. I recently purchased an inversion machine which allows me to hang upside down and naturally decompresses my spine to help the bulging disc recede back into my spine and eventually heal it without surgery...which is the key. I do not want surgery unless absolutely necessary.

I have been researching the amount of time it takes for results to begin and what I have been finding is a "few weeks". I've only been "hanging" for the past week, so I still have a couple more weeks until I should "officially" start feeling results I assume.

I'm very excited for my back to get better as this has been over 2 months of constant pain now. It's really starting to affect me.

Awful Advertising...

So a humanist group up in Washing D.C. decided for this CHRISTMAS season, that they would do an advertising campaign buying ads on buses stating "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness sakes!". Does anyone else see the extreme hypocrisy in this?

We all know very well that if any Christian group were to buy advertising for the public to see that said something to the affect of "God is THE ONLY way to salvation" everyone would be up in arms claiming that we were shoving religion down their throats! Why is this terrible humanist message any different? Why aren't people getting super offended about that?!

New tattoo...

So, I have been itching to get another tattoo, particularly a short sleeve on my right arm that intertwines with my current tattoos. I have a tattered American flag with angel wings that represents my dad located on my deltoid, and a cross on my inner bicep, all on my right arm.

What I want particularly is something that represents my boys but I am struggling with what to illustrate. I want it to be killer! I want it also to be able to be added on to since Steph and I plan on having more children.

Any ideas are welcome!

What can we trust...

My wife took our beautiful 9 month old little man to his scheduled doctor appointment this morning for his check up. The doc checked him over said that he's looking great. She said that his top teeth are about to pop through any day now which is great for him, but I'll certainly miss his gummy little smile!

Well, it was brought up that we have been giving our little man Hylands Teething Tablets and the doctor told us to stop giving those to him immediately. She told us that those were extremely bad and can affect a child's central nervous system. Steph told the doctor that they are "all natural" and the doctors response was "so is alcohol but you don't give that to your baby". Good point.

~BUT~

Doing our own research, my wife and I are finding mixed reviews on whether they are definitely bad for a child or if it's just hype. So I ask you for your opinion. What do you feel about these "all natural" product and what successes or failures have you found with them? We are in search of whether we should continue giving these to our baby or not. I realize that doctors may not necessarily be nutritionists so they may only have knowledge through hearsay and not specifically through independent research, so we are wanting to get to the bottom of this.

A welcome sight...

After so many months of insanely high gas prices here in Middle Tennessee, the price for one gallon of gas has FINALLY dipped below $2! Not by much, it's $1.99 for one gallon of gasoline, but I am hopeful that the price of gas will keep coming down.

I remember back in the day, (oh boy, I'm feeling old, I have a "back in the day" story to tell my sons!), when gasoline was .65 cents for a gallon of gas and it would cost me no more than $10 or $12 bucks to fill my tank. While todays fill-up of $29.60 was certainly a welcome site, it would be great to go back to filling up the ole' tank for $15!

Which one...

Well, I may be a little "late to the party" on this site, but oh my gosh, it made for a good laugh.

You can see the original picture that I used of myself, then the resulting "yearbook" pictures generated. Some are pretty funny! I would have to say that #5 is my favorite. Which one is your favorite?

Uninspired...

Anyone else feel the way I've felt in the past week or so? I have been utterly uninspired to write anything on my blog whatsoever. I haven't been moved in such a way that would cause me to script my thoughts on this blog. I was on a good run of writing something nearly everyday at one point. Then slowly but surely, my posts have dwindled as of late.

I know this is a huge disappointment to my 3 loyal readers of my pathetic attempt at a blog, but I'm sure something will strike my fancy soon enough for me to write about.

Welcome to Socialism...

Well, I honestly can report that I am unhappy with last nights results for electing a new president of this great nation. It will certainly be interesting to see what happens when everything becomes socialized, such as healthcare, college education, and also the redistribution of wealth.

It's funny to me that people who voted for Obama say "It's a great day for America". I am very excited to hear what they have to say about 2 years into Obama's presidency to see if they still have that same sentiment.

All I know is that God is STILL ultimately in control and I put all my faith in Him alone. Only He can deliver us and only He will be there at the end.

November? Already?

Doesn't seem like it was just the beginning of summer? And now we're only a month and a half away from Christmas? My goodness how quickly the time passes! However, this is my FAVORITE time of year. Apple cider, apple butter, meals in the crock pot.....Mmmmm...so cozy!
